Casting and Heat Treatment of Metal Brackets for the Trucking Industry
Z&L Machining, Inc. was approached by an Illinois based truck manufacturing company to cast and heat-treat metal brackets. To complete the order, we attained heat-treated, austemptered, ductile iron castings which were primed in black. We then took the castings and drilled holes, deburred and milled flats and spotfaces using a Mazak H630 CNC mill.
We were able to complete ten, 10.250" x 8.50" x 4.25" metal brackets all within tightest tolerances of +/- .010". To ensure the best quality, Z & L tested and inspected the brackets using a hardness tester, micrometer, caliper and a CMM. If you want to learn more about this metal bracket or any of our other projects, please contact Z & L Machining or read the detailed specs below.
